- Material drying: moisture in PC/ABS causes silver streaks and strength loss
- Mold temperature: governs surface replication and internal stress
- Holding and cooling: decide sink marks, warpage and dimensional stability
- Gating and venting: affect weld-line appearance and strength
Volume stability
Stable production depends on documented process cards and locked parameters: injection curves and cycle times frozen after first article, mold and material changes following SOPs, and SPC monitoring of critical dimensions. When touring a factory, parameter discipline on the shop floor is the most visible capability signal.
For buyers, the audit focus in molding is process discipline rather than machine brands — identical tonnage machines deliver entirely different results under different discipline.
